Located at the urban chic Kolonaki area, downtown Athens, the apartment is part of a high-profile residential complex. It is a building that was originally used as the office and school of the renowned architect and urban planner Constantinos Doxiadis.

The intention of the lighting design was to follow the clean and minimal architectural design, which uses high quality and sensible materials, but at the same time to create a “homey” and warm environment.

Light sources with high CRI and minimal glare downlights have been carefully selected all over the apartment combined with concealed lighting at the joinery bringing out the warmth of wood and creating layers of lighting.

Entering the apartment, a partition hides us from what we are going to experience as a visual experience but at the same time it makes the element of surprise of what will follow intense.

The cove lighting emphasizes the boundaries of the living room and the corridor behind the kitchen and in the case of the longitudinal floor washer out of the bedroom, it welcomes us with a soft light to this private area.

The bookcase is a key element of the space and with its backlight gives a strong statement and visual depth at the same time, while the accent lighting in the kitchen serves the task of cooking.

In the bedroom the illuminated floating bed stands out while the warmth of the concealed lighting of the joinery provides the feeling of calm and relaxation.
